Robin and I met at California State University, Long Beach many, many years ago. After college, my intention was to teach art at the elementary level, but life had other plans. Shortly after we moved to Washington, our son Vincent was born. (Yes, he is named after Van Gogh!) His sister (who would have been Theo if she were a boy), followed shortly thereafter. I was lucky enough to be a stay at home mom for their early years, enjoying 2 hour walks around the block, co-op preschool and lots of finger painting and sidewalk chalk. When Robin created Robin Hing Design, I went to work part time to cover our medical benefits, stumbling onto a job I honestly love - being a barista. Coffee anyone? Time flies. Our son is now in high school, our first daughter is in middle school and our second daughter is almost one year old. I am truly lucky. I can still see Robin's look of support and encouragement when I told him - kind of out of the blue - that I wanted to open up an art studio for kids. Five months, one business plan and a lot of sweat later, my dream is a reality. I encourage any -- and all -- interested in checking out the studio to give me a call or drop me an e-mail! I look forward to hearing from you!

We are situated to serve the neighborhoods of Laurelhurst, Meadowbrook, Viewridge, Wedgwood, Ravenna, University District and Lake City -- but all are welcome!
Whether it's preschoolers, grade schoolers, tweens, or teens, I'm happy to gear art classes to community needs. If you have a group of 3 students or more, give me a call to see if we can customize a class for you.
